I, and the rest of the Board, look forward to a prosperous and successful 2018. We are always in the position of requiring more members so if you know of anyone that may be interested in umpiring please encourage them to contact us. Next year will see the introduction of a senior women’s competition in our region, and with AFL grand final umpire Chelsea Roffey coming on board as an umpire ambassador in the Barwon region, will see an increase in female participation – something we will need to both match and accommodate.
To assist in securing our ongoing financial future I will need as many members as possible to attend a meeting on January 23 next year at Buckley’s. I will explain further in the new year, however if you could block out this date at 7pm, you will be able to assist in in a tangible manner to our ongoing financial security.
Andi Shepherd has commenced work as our office administrator and we welcome Andi to the association. She takes over from Dave Harris who is leaving to further his business interests. We thank Dave for all that he has done for Geelong Umpires, and wish him all the best in the future.
On behalf of the Board of Management have a safe and enjoyable Christmas, and we look forward to seeing you back in 2018.
