How much will I earn?

Another great benefit of being an Aussie Rules Football Umpiring, in the Geelong Football Umpires League, is the you will be paid for all the fun and fitness you have.

Senior Field umpires can earn as much as $2000+ per season, and all TAX FREE! Match payments range from $20 up to $105 per game.

So whether you want to be a Field Umpire, Boundary Umpire or a Goal Umpire, you'll earn some CASH whilst being a part of the greatest game on Earth.

How fit do I need to be?

Fitness is all relative to the level of Football you wish to umpire. Most moderately fit people would be able to cope with the rigours of U/14 field umpiring, however most senior field and boundary umpires would be well above average fitness.

Goal Umpiring also enables those that perhaps don't wish to get too active with their umpiring to still make a significant contribution to our game.

Our umpires train just like other sports, so regardless of where you are starting from, you can achieve greater levels of fitness, if thats what you want.

Do I need to have played football before to be an umpire?

No! In fact many of our senior running umpires have never played football. Mind you virtually all of them are very keen football followers and love the great Australian game.
