The Geelong Football Umpires League (GFUL) has been serving local Australian Rules Football in and around the Western District and Geelong regions since 1935.

We are one of the largest umpiring groups in Australia with close to 270 active members, including males and females, who officiate in approximately 100 games of football each weekend.

From 2006, the GFUL have been affiliated with the Victorian Country Football League (VCFL), supplying Field, Boundary and Goal Umpires to the Geelong Football League, the Bellarine Football League, the Geelong and District Football League and the Geelong Junior Football Leagues at football venues in an area stretching from Werribee to Colac and the Bellarine Peninsula.

Our Club Rooms are located within the Kardinia Park Precinct (between the Kardinia Park West ground on LaTrobe Terrace and the main gates of Skilled Stadium) and we train on the magnificently prepared and maintained Geelong Cricket Ground on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We have two training sessions, the first commencing at 4.45pm and the second at 5.45pm and anyone interested in finding out more about umpiring with the GFUL is quite welcome to come and observe a training session and have a chat about what is involved.   Newcomers are always made welcome and are never pressured into becoming a member.

Youngsters under the age of 18 are always encouraged to bring a parent with them on their first visit, so that they too can see first hand, what type of environment their child will be involved in and form their own opinions.

The GFUL also has a strong emphasis on families and social interactivity, which in turn engenders great camaraderie between members of all ages and their families.
