TRAINING POLICY - 2008 All Umpiring Disciplines All GFUL members are encouraged to attend all official training sessions, all official coaching sessions and to actively participate in the association’s social program. In order to be considered for appointments to senior home and away games and to finals, individual members are required to achieve the following: - Minimum attendance at official training sessions – 50%
- Minimum attendance at official coaching sessions – 50%
- Minimum attendance of one (1) official social event during the normal Home and Away season, other than after match gatherings
Where a member is unable to achieve the minimum requirements, a letter should be presented to the General Manager advising the reasons. The General Manager will forward this information to the Director of Umpiring and the respective senior coach for countermeasure arrangements to be made in consultation with the umpire regarding a training program and a process to receive performance reports and coaching information. A summary of umpires submitting letters and the resultant countermeasure agreements is to be submitted to the Board of Management for final approval. Members should note that the presentation of a letter does not waive the requirements of training sessions, coaching sessions and social events participation. The letter is regarded as signal that a countermeasure plan is to be developed. APPOINTMENTS POLICY
