Members returning for pre-season training in a few weeks, may not recognise the GFUL rooms since the end of last season, as the exterior of the building in Kardinia Park has been completely transformed with a new, clean fresh look after a Working Bee held on 12th and 13th January to paint the exterior of the building. After complying with all the COGG regulations and OH&S requirements, approval was given for the GFUL to proceed with painting the exterior of the building to blend in more with the environment and surrounding facilities.
The large amount of paint required to carry out the work, was provided by Taubmans as part of their new sponsorship of the GFUL. A big Thankyou to Kerr's Northside Hire for donating the use of the scaffolding and to Fagg's Mitre 10 for their sponsorship which allowed us to purchase all the additional painting materials and accessories required to do the job properly. The work was co-ordinated and managed by our very own painting professional, Jock Hillgrove, and the end result was a great job, completed on time over just two days, to the utter satisfaction of COGG officers who inspected the finished job. Well done to the following members who contributed to the Working Bee over the weekend.
Jason “Jock” Hillgrove, Brendan Beveridge, Damian McMaster, Kevin McMaster, Paul Grossman, Bert Touwslager, John Villanti, Daniel Dorling, Ben Johnstone, Steve Guarnaccia,Trent Ververs, Jack Ververs, Darren Santospirito, Paul Holmes, Luke McGregor, Rob Steel, Bill Harrison, Scott Dixon, Brian Hunter-Evans, Eden Stubbings and David House.
Including a cameo appearance by Steve Keating
