Every Saturday during the football season, GFUL Senior Field Umpire, John Tatnell, leaves home in Torquay to travel to his appointed Umpiring destination, whether it be McDonald Park, Ocean Grove Reserve or Thomson Reserve. However, last weekend 1st July, John’s routine travel arrangements took on mammoth preportions.

Sometimes we need to get some news or information to members urgently and in such circumstances it will be included in the "Urgent News" section of this site. To check if there is any urgent news you should know about, look for a Subject Title in the "Urgent News" box on top of the Main Menu and if there is, just click on it to access the urgent informtion we need get to you. Get into the habit of checking it out every time you log on, there may not always be something in there, but there most certainly will be if it is URGENT. |

Saturday 17th June 2006, was a day that reflects the changes that are evolving within the GFUL. On the same day that GFUL veteran, David Chaston achieved a magnificent milestone of 400 matches as a Field Umpire, two young Field Umpires made senior debut's, which will hopefully lead to them emulating "Chasto's" long career.
